Vintage 80s Does 40s Hearts Midi Wiggle Pencil Dress Rayon Navy Gold Size 4 Or 6

Absolutely amazing 80s does 40s rayon pencil dress. “Hearts” brand. 100% rayon, made in USA. Care instructions say to dry clean, but I have successfully washed rayon in cold water by hand or gentle cycle and hung to dry and then thrown in dryer for ten minutes to remove wrinkles. Label says size 9/10. Im a wide waisted size 8 and am wearing it in photo #4, and in photos 1-3 the dress is being worn by a model who is approximately a size 2. You can see it is a little snug on me and a bit big for her. I think it would fit a women’s size 6 very well, and maybe even a very curvy size 4. I have provided measurements in item specifics as well as in photos. This dress has a blousy short sleeve bodice with a more fitted pencil fit skirt. The bodice had five purple buttons up the center, which I think was an odd choice by the manufacturer, so I replaced them with some really cute vintage 1960s buttons that I felt coordinated better. The purple buttons did cause some color transfer to the dress behind a coupon of the buttons, but it’s covered by the buttons and completely not noticeable. The photos with the measurements are of the dress with the old purple buttons, I took them before I decided to put new buttons on it. The last photo shows both an old button and the replacement buttons I put on it. There is a patch pocket on the left side of the bust, and a slip pocket on either side of the skirt at the hip. The sleeves hit at about the elbow and have a slightly oversized look to them. This dress has dramatic shoulder pads that give you that broad power shoulder look, but they can easily be removed if you wish with just a couple snips. I think it would look better without shoulder pads personally, but I’ll leave that choice up to the buyer. The waist is elastic, so even though the photo shows it measuring 13” across, it has about 2.5”-3” of stretch to 13.5-15” across, so this could fit a 26” to approximately a 30” waist. The bust measures 18” across but is meant to be a bit blousy and not fitted, so keep this in mind when considering fit. The length of the dress falls below my knees on my 5’ 5.5” frame. The pattern and colors of this dress are so beautiful. I was so incredibly bummed when I bought this and then realized it was too small for me. The cut of this dress is so flattering and would be a great dress to wear to the office or for an office event or date night. Other than the button color transfer, this dress is in great vintage preowned condition. No flaws to note, and no strange or overwhelming odors. Looks to have been recently cleaned. Please examine photos carefully and feel free to ask questions. Thanks.
